Although all of this is quite flexible and during the school holiday we
tend to go out to other places such as; West Midlands Safari park, Cadbury
World, Snibstone Discovery Park, Sealife centre, Sundown adventure land and we are always open
to suggestions.
Some activities will be planned but
mostly we like to take the lead from the children as it encourages them to be
independent and we like them to have freedom of choice.
We also try to get the children
involved in day to day activities around the home as this teaches them life
skills and independence which is as equally important as all other aspects of
learning.
Older
children and children that are toileting have their own coloured towel for the
bathroom, they choose one out of the drawer and it gets washed at the end of
the week. This is to prevent cross infection and also encourages personal
hygiene as the children enjoy having their own towel, so are more inclined to use
it.
We always listen to what the children want to do, and have a wide range
of toys and activities, nothing is too much trouble. Baking is a big hit in
this house!
